Punk City: An Adventure in Archaeology

The Holographic Principle: The Birth and Death of Punk City in one photograph.

Since the death of a R. F. Laird in ~2014(?), the history of the punk writers of South Street has grown increasingly murky. I inherited the fascination with this phenomenon from my father, Frank Frelinger, about whom you will be learning much more. He died several years after Laird, and I began researching the subject in my own shortly afterwards, my tribute to a man who taught me much. I’ll be explaining all that below. What matters now is fairly simple. Most of the prime actors from Punk City are now deceased, which means that the study of it can be pursued more objectively than it has ever been before. It is now a project in in archaeology, which has always given us some of the most surprising, important, and continuously unfolding revelations of any professional discipline. That’s my approach here. With that said, we’ll begin with a linkable list of the Chapters and Pages of Evidence that tell the story of the research effort and its findings:

Chapter 1. Introduction of Key Players in the Quest for the Truth

Chapter 2. The Status and Scope of the Existing Evidence

Chapter 3.
